Taskin, R (on the application of) v. Secretary of State for the Home Department [2008] EWHC 256 (Admin): Successful challenge to a decision of the Secretary of State for the Home Department not to recognise a foreign national asylum applicant’s further representations following a refusal of asylum as a meritorious fresh claim for asylum; KJ ('Own or occupy exclusively') Jamaica [2008] UKAIT 00006: Successful challenge to a decision of an Immigration Judge to exclude licensees and lodgers from being able to satisfy the requirement in the Immigration Rules that a person “own or occupy exclusively” property;
FP (Iran) v. Secretary of State for the Home Department [2007] EWCA Civ 13 (The Times, 26 January 2007): Successful challenge to the lawfulness of procedure rules requiring the Asylum and Immigration Tribunal to hear appeals in the absence of appellants in certain circumstances; IM (Turkey) v Secretary of State for the Home Department [2007] EWCA Civ 505: Successfully obtained an extension of time for the filing of an appellant's notice in circumstances where solicitors had failed to file the same. Also persuaded the Court that the solicitors in question should not be subject to disciplinary sanction. |
